What Is Invisalign?
Invisalign is a set of aligners that your dentist will fit over the surface of your teeth. The pressure exerted by the retainers is what straightens your teeth because Invisalign does not have any wires or brackets to hold the system together.
The aligners are transparent, making them hardly noticeable. They are made from a very flexible plastic.
Why Is It Recommended?
Your dentist in Epping will create a treatment plan that is based on the unique manner in which your teeth move. Your aligners will be custom built for you, based on where and how you bite down. Because they have no wires or brackets, the aligners apply force to the teeth when you use them.
What Are The Benefits?
Invisibility
Invisalign braces are transparent.
Keep all your teeth
There is no need to extract a tooth to make room for the braces.
They are removable
Invisalign can be removed when you eat and drink and for cleaning.
They don’t have ties and elastics
Not only does this make them more comfortable, it also means they are easier to clean.
Shorter treatment times
Most patients can straighten their teeth in a shorter time period with aligners than wearing traditional braces.
No food restrictions
Invisalign does not require you to restrict your diet or change the way you eat. You can continue to eat as if you did not wear braces.
What can you expect from treatment?
Once your aligners have been created you will probably wear them for 20-22 hours every day. Your dentist in Epping will arrange a new set of retainers every second week. Each set of retainers has been designed to move your teeth gradually into place.
You can also expect to see your dentist on average every four to six weeks. He or she will check on your progress with the new retainers and make any necessary adjustments.
How Long Will You Wear Aligners For?
Your circumstances will dictate your treatment timeline and your dentist in Epping dental clinic will discuss it with you when reviewing your treatment plan. The average wear time for Invisalign is between 12 and 18 months.
